Last year I submitted a piece to Village People Magazine regards the River Waveney Trust. This is a bi-monthly publication and since then I have submitted and had published three pieces on the River Waveney Trust and more recently a generic piece on volunteering within the Waveney District and my last piece was on : Sisters Together Retreats. The Ipswich East End Historic District was added to the National Registry of Historic Places in View a complete description in the Nomination Report. The East End includes the seafaring portion of the original village of Ipswich and offers an architectural history of the town’s development.
The European history of Ipswich began with the exploration of the Bremer River in by Captain Patrick Logan, the commandant of the convict settlement at Brisbane. He discovered hills of limestone along the banks of the Bremer, and in the following year, sent an overseer and five convicts to quarry limestone and erect a lime-burning kiln. Ipswich City Council is asking for community feedback to inform a new Master Plan for the development of Cooneana Heritage Centre.
